By enrolling into Next Step Broadway’s 2021-22 season:
I agree to read ALL emails from Next Step Broadway to keep up to date with current news and information.
I understand that, before the 2020-21 season begins, I will be charged the enrollment fees upon enrollment.
I understand I WILL BE CHARGED THE ENROLLMENT FEES UPON ENROLLMENT if I enroll after the season has begun.
I agree to keep my enrollment at least through December even in the event that NSB HAS TO GO VIRTUAL DUE TO COVID-19 MANDATES or in the event that the participant must quarantine for any reason.
If I am a Virtual Class family, I agree to keep my enrollment at least through December.
I understand that in December I can make a decision whether or not I want to continue through June if there has been a mandate forcing NSB to go virtual.
I understand that in the event of going virtual there will ABSOLUTELY be no refunds to my tuition payments for the 2021-22 season. I will have the option to discontinue beginning Jan. 1st, 2022.
I understand that if my child’s school schedule changes, NSB will help me find a different class my child can take.
I understand that all NORMAL policies are still in effect.
I understand that Virtual Class fees are the same as the in-person class fees and follows all of NSB tuition & studio policies and procedures.
NORMAL TUITION POLICIES
Tuition Info: Our tuition rate is based on a yearly tuition. *Tuition does not include the recital fee, payment for dance attire or any other fees. The tuition is for taking the class only. The school year consists of a minimum of thirty (30) weekly class sessions from September through June. You do not pay for scheduled holidays. Tuition at Next Step Broadway is paid monthly and assumes a commitment from September through June.
Tuition is conveniently divided into ten equal payments from September to June: September (Month 1), October (Month 2), November (Month 3), December (Month 4), January (Month 5), February (Month 6), March (Month 7), April (Month 8), May (Month 9), June (Month 10) (with the exception of Musical Theatre Production).
All classes are scheduled more than 30 weeks for the year to accommodate for any weather closings, emergencies and class cancellations for any reason. Make-ups for classes will only be scheduled if the year falls below 30 weeks.
There is no tuition proration, refunds, or credits for any classes missed during the year.
Enrollment Fees: Upon enrollment, a nonrefundable registration fee and nonrefundable first and last month’s tuition is due.
Registration Fee: There is a non-refundable annual registration fee for the $20 first student, $15 per child for 2nd child and beyond to a $50 per family maximum.
Multiple Class Discounts:Multiple Class Discounts is per child or per family. Does not apply to Ballroom & Private lessons. 2-3 classes = 5% discount off all classes & 4 or more classes = 10% discount off all classes
ALL TUITION AND FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE.
Credit Card Info: A credit card must be on file and your account will be charged every 1st of the month from October – May.
Full Year Discount: If tuition is paid in full for the year, you may receive a 5% discount for the year. This cannot be combined with any other promotion/discounts. This payment is NONREFUNDABLE.
Withdrawal Notice: Tuition will continue to be charged monthly (on the 1st of each month) until the studio has received a written request of cancellation (must be submitted before the 1st of the month).
Late Fees: Any account unpaid after the 15th of the month will have a $15 late charge assessed. If a credit card is declined, you will be notified via email. If the account is not updated and the balance remains unpaid as of the 15th of the month, the $15 late charge will apply. If an account is more than 21 days late with payment of monthly tuition, your dancer(s) will be unable to attend class until full payment is made. Late enrollees (after Oct 31st) may be charged an extra $15 S&H costume fee. Late costumes ordered may also be charged an extra $15 S&H costume fee.
Trial Classes: There is a non-refundable $20 charge (payable by cash or check) for a trial class – which will be applied to your account if you decide to stay. Trials are only offered through November 1st. Please check in at the front desk to arrange your trial class. This can change at anytime.
Recital Fee: A nonrefundable recital fee of $175 will be charged to your card on file on December 1st. The recital fee covers the cost of the costume, a souvenir recital t-shirt*, 1 (ONE) pair of recital tights, and the Annual Participation Award. The full recital fee applies to the first class in which your child/family is enrolled. The recital fee is $100 for each subsequent class in which a child or family is enrolled. The Recital Fee also includes digital copies of ALL recitals. If you would like to purchase a DVD, it is $20 a piece) (One recital t-shirt per dancer). The recital fee is NONREFUNDABLE. *Please note: only students who are performing in the recital is listed in the recital program.
Summer Tuition Policy:NEW NSB STUDENTS: There is a $20 Registration Fee for the 1st child, and $15 Registration Fee for the 2nd child and thereafter – to a $50 maximum per family. The registration fee is waived for current Next Step Broadway families who are enrolled in the 2019/20 dance season. REGISTRATION FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE!There is a 5% discount for multiple classes and camps (Applies to Early Bird Special and regular tuition).A non-refundable deposit of $100 per camp session is required at time of registration to reserve a space for your child. The balance will be deducted from your account 1 month prior to the start of each camp.All cancellations must be in writing, either in the studio or via email (email@example.com). You will receive 100% tuition credit less the $100 camp deposit & less $10 admin fee to use toward 2021 NSB camps or 2021-22 NSB classes if written cancellation is received 2 weeks prior to the start date of each camp or class.
Dance attire and shoes can be purchased at our Next Step Store located at the front desk (with the exception of hip hop shoes).
Acro: Girls: Any color leotard and footless tights. Barefoot. Hair in ponytail.
Boys: Fitted shorts or yoga style pants, tee shirt, barefoot
Pre-Ballet and Ballet Combo Classes: Any color leotard and tights. Hair up in ponytail or bun (out of face and off of neck).
Ballet (Levels A and up): Girls: Black leotard, ballet pink tights, and pink leather or canvas ballet shoes. No baggy over sweaters. Hair must be in secured ballet bun.
Boys: black dance pants, white tee shirt, and black ballet shoes
Hip Hop: Comfortable and cool clothes to move, jump and groove in. Sweatpants or Leggings, Dancewear or Activewear. Knees must be covered. Hair in Ponytail or bun. (Can wear leotard and tights if have multiple classes). Shoes: black high-top Converse All-Stars (Chuck Taylors). Hair is ponytail or bun (out of face and off of neck).
All Other Classes Dance Attire (Musical Theatre, Jazz, Creative Movement): Any color leotard, any color tights, dancewear, activewear, leggings, form-fitting top. Hair in ponytail or bun, required shoes.
Please no: shorts (except form-fitting dance shorts with tights underneath), dresses, long skirts, loose clothing, gum, candy, & jewelry.
Acro: no shoes
Ballet: (Combo and younger – Girls): Pink leather ballet for the younger classes. (Boys): Black leather ballet; (Levels A and up – Girls): Pink leather or pink canvas ballet. (Boys): Black leather or canvas ballet
Contemporary, Jazz & Musical Theatre Dance -All Levels: (Combo & Girls): Tan slip-on Jazz or Capezio free forms;
(Boys): Black jazz
Creative Movement: ballet shoes or barefoot
Hip Hop & Mini Hip Hop: black with white sole high top Converse All-Stars (Chuck Taylors) OR the One Star brand at Target OR similar style high top black shoes.
Open Technique: Pink ballet shoes or Tan slip-on jazz shoes
Tap: (Combo and younger): Black Mary Jane Style tap shoes for younger classes; (Levels A and up): Black tie-up tap shoes for older classes. Please note that tap shoes for Levels A, B, C and D can only be purchased at the Southfield location.
Please note: combo students require both style shoes. Example: Ballet/Tap combo classes need both Ballet & Tap shoes.
Hair Ties:We have hair ties for 25 cents if your child needs them. We will post the 25 cents on your NSB account.
Face Masks: We have face masks for $1 if you and/or your child forgets to wear a mask. We will post the $1 on your NSB account.
Attendance is vital to success and improvement in dance. Personal progress and classroom achievement is a reflection of regular attendance.

Payment Policies – The Fine Print
Next Step Broadway LLC, requires families to make payments by credit card. Your credit card information must be on file. We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express credit cards. If you wish to pay by a different method, payment must be received by the studio in advance of the month due (e.g. you may pay by cash or check for November tuition if the studio receives payment before November 1st). If you made arrangements to pay by a different method and your account is delinquent and is not paid by the 15th of the month, you will be charged the $15 late fee as listed on our Tuition Policy AND your credit card on file will be charged. We do not send out monthly statements. You may view your transactions via your Family Portal account. Tuition remains the same regardless of the number of classes in the month. Any attendance during a month constitutes a full month’s tuition charge. ALL TUITION IS NON-REFUNDABLE. A nonrefundable registration fee and nonrefundable first and last month’s tuition will be charged to your account upon enrollment. Tuition fees thereafter will be charged on the 1st of every month. Monthly tuition will continue to be charged until the studio receives written notification of cancellation. If notification is received after the 1st of the month, that month’s tuition will be charged regardless of whether your child attends class in that month. Notifying the teacher or front desk verbally is not considered an appropriate notice of withdrawal. Next Step Broadway classes run from September 9th through the week after the recital in June. If for any reason you decide to discontinue your classes, you must notify the studio in writing prior to the first of the next month and any further monthly charges will be discontinued. Your initial deposit of the first and last month tuition will not be refunded or credited. If you paid in full – no refunds or credits will be given. Monthly tuition WILL NOT be prorated if you drop a class in the middle of a month. Summer tuition WILL NOT be prorated if you miss a class or if you drop the class before the end of the session. Additionally, there are NO refunds for the cost of costumes, t-shirts, recital video or recital tickets. If enrollment is canceled between August 1st – August 15th, a 50% credit to your Next Step Broadway account will be given (less the registration fee). NO tuition credit for the prepaid first month and last month will be given if enrollment is canceled after August 15th.
